Summer 200-Hour Basic Certification Teacher Training with Raji Thron

If you have weekday time open and want your weekends for other summer activities, this teacher training format could be perfect for you. The Summer Training is unique because it is more intensive than other formats we offer. Participants are encouraged to dive wholeheartedly into their own practice, practice teaching and class observations in order to further their own development in yoga, and to gain practical insight into teaching technique, methodology and style. Each training session includes theory, postural practice, breathing practice, meditation, relaxation, discussion and teaching practicum. Main presentations and classes are taught by Raji Thron, with assistance from Yoga Synthesis™ Staff Teachers and graduates.

Themes of Different Sections:

Section 1: Intensive on Gentle breath-based, yin, Restorative, Recuperative Yoga and Meditation 
*Section 2: Intensive on Alignment-based Yoga Technique and Practice, Pranayama, Prop Tricks and hands-on adjustment 
*Section 3: Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga Intensive 
*Section 4: Intensive on Yoga Synthesis- Creative Integration, Teaching Practicum and Mentorship. 

 

Prerequisites - Candidates for admission into the Summer Intensive Teacher Training should have at least 2 years currently consistent Yoga practice, and a basic understanding of yogic principles. To insure the integrity of the learning experience, all candidates must receive prior approval of the instructor.

 

Requirements - In order to receive a Certification, participants need to complete the following requirements: 

•Attend each training session in its entirety (except in the event of illness or severe emergency situations).
•Complete all required reading assignments.
•Submit written homework, including essays based on required reading (due on Friday night of each section).
• Complete 4 class assists with Yoga Synthesis™ Staff Teachers or other qualified teachers.
•Commit to a home practice a minimum of 1 time a week.
•Organize and teach classes once a week to a small informal group of friends or family. Observe/ Take 30 classes (6 Gentle Restorative Classes, 6 level 1 Classes, 6 mixed Classes, 6 Vinyasa Classes, 6 Ashtanga classes).
•Pass all written and practical tests.
•Missed training presentations may be made up through private instruction arranged with the instructor, at a minimum fee of $150 for every 2 hours of private instruction.

Yoga Alliance Registration – The Yoga Synthesis™ Teacher Training is registered with Yoga Alliance and meets the minimum Yoga Alliance requirement of 200 hours. Upon completion of all requirements, trainees receive a Certificate which can be submitted to Yoga Alliance for registration.

Participants Will Learn :
•Yoga practices of various traditions: postural, breathing, meditation and relaxation
•Yoga Philosophy, Psychology, Ayurveda and yogic health practices
•Teaching methodology, ethics, technique and style
•Anatomy and physiology related to yoga practices
•The practice and teaching of fundamental yoga postures, alignment, variations and modifications and sequencing
•The practice and teaching of fundamental breathing techniques, breath sequencing and meditation
•Essential Sanskrit terms and mantras commonly associated with yogic practices and yoga philosophy

Required Books – If possible, participants should complete all pre-training reading requirements before the start of the program.

Required Yoga Props - To insure that everyone has the correct props, please purchase in advance: Yoga mat, 9-foot quick release Yoga strap, 2 - 4" Yoga blocks and 2 Mexican cotton blankets, 60”x 80”. Buying a Yoga Bolster will be useful, but not required.

TuitionFull Tuition is $3600. A completed application, along with a deposit check payable to Raji Thron in the amount of $1,000 is required for registration in Yoga Synthesis™ Basic Teacher Training. Payment in full prior to commencement of training is preferred. Payment plans are available. Payment plans can be arranged. All payments are due no later than the training’s graduation date. Cost of books and props is not included.

Registration & Payment – A completed application must be accompanied by a deposit check payable to Raji Thron in the amount of $1,000, sent to Yoga Synthesis™, 225 North Franklin Turnpike, Ramsey, NJ 07446. Please submit your application by mail to the above address. Payment plans are available, based on the full price of the training with no more than 4 payments to be paid in full by the end of the training.

Refund Policy - Withdrawal refund prior to start date, $800. Thereafter, refunds are determined on an individual basis, depending upon time spent in the training, cost of training materials, etc. The Yoga Synthesis™ Teachers’ Training Manual and Manual Supplement are the property of Yoga Synthesis™, and must be returned to Yoga Synthesis™ upon withdrawal from program.
