DRUMMING 101-1001 with Ron 12/1 is POSTPONED...

This workshop (12/1/18) has been POSTPONED. Please check in again for new date announcement coming soon...

Have a drum? Great! No matter what type it is, as long as it’s not broken, I will do my best to fit it into our class. No need to hesitate attending without one, because I share some of my drums and other percussion instruments.

Health benefits of drumming have been recognized for centuries. I will lead you to ‘journey’ into the cultural sounds of African, Arabian, East Orient, Native American, Celtic, shamanism ……. The introduction of the djembe, doumbek, and frame drum; are segments of my class. Rhythms, body position, movements to sit and/or stand to listen of oneself and others within the group. It’s a synchronization of communal spirits, energies and release to feel joyful calm and increased energy! After a drum session, people may sit/lie comfortably to feel the sounds of my Santur of many strings. It’s not a drum, but multi-stringed instrument that pre-dates the piano. It’s a time to wind down, contemplate or meditate.

This is a workshop, which in time; we can advance to higher levels of communal drum circles for all ages from child to senior adult.

We deeply appreciate early registration so Ron knows how many drums to bring.
