Writing Poems to Heal Your Life and Your World
Discover how a simple practice of writing poetry can transform and deepen your relationship with yourself and your world. Each of us has been given the gift of creativity, with infinite possibilities for expression. The activities during this two-hour workshop will enable you to quickly tap into your vein of creativity, and write poems that reflect your inner vision in a unique and beautiful way. Your writing will have the power to enlighten, bless, and transform your reader's experience as well as your own. The class does not involve movement, but wear clothes suitable for floor sitting. No writing experience is required. Writing supplies will be available, or you may wish to bring a favorite pen and journal. All you need is the willingness to be open and delighted!
Presenter: Cheryl Racanelli
Cheryl Racanelli began her writer's journey in third grade when she was first introduced to the magic of creative writing. After earning a technical undergraduate degree, Cheryl earned a master's degree in creative writing. She leads creativity workshops for adults, and teaches free-verse poetry to elementary school students. Her poems have appeared in literary journals and anthologies. Cheryl recently released a new book, a volume of poetry called 59 Prayers, which explores the spiritual possibilities in the events of an ordinary life.
