TEACHER WORKSHOPS with KITTY BLINCOE: Sunday, June 9th in Ramsey

Guiding Yoga Nidra - The Art of Relaxation
12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation done lying on your back in Savasana - or even seated in a chair, hospital bed - anywhere! It is said one hour of Yoga Nidra equals four hours of sleep. Yoga Nidra is deeply healing and being used more frequently with those who suffer from PTSD, cancer, insomnia and other imbalances. It has also been said to boost creativity and learning. In this workshop you will learn a bit about the history of this ancient practice, experience a Yoga Nidra meditation as well as learn some tips to creating a well rounded, soothing experience.

Parameters of Yoga Therapy for Cancer Patients & Survivors
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

An intro to the do's and don’ts of yoga therapy as it relates to working with cancer patients and survivors. Studies show how yoga can build muscle and bone, combat fatigue, increase mood and help reduce anxiety and fear amongst those coping with a cancer diagnosis. Not all yoga is appropriate during this phase of someone's life journey. Explore Ahimsa (non harming) as it relates to working with this population. Compassion is not enough; knowledge is empowering - for you and your students.

Registration Fee: $25 per person/per workshop or $40 per person for both workshops.
