THE ART OF RELAXATION - YOGA NIDRA with KITTY BLINCOE: Friday, November 16th in Chestnut Ridge

IT IS SAID 1 HOUR of YOGA NIDRA = 4 HOURS of SLEEP
The room will be candlelit for a soft, warm, blanket-like glow.
We begin with grounding and selecting a sankhalpa (intention) and from there move into guided flowing sequences appropriate for all levels. Limited cues and talking invite you to find your space and settle deep into your own practice while being uplifted by the energy created in the room from the collective practice.

TEACHER'S INTENSIVE ON ALIGNMENT-BASED YOGA: ALIGNMENT PRINCIPLES AND PROP TRICKS with RAJI THRON: Saturday, December 15th in Ramsey

Deepen your postural awareness and body cueing. Explore the world of refined joint articulation and the use of props to fine tune correct alignment and action in your postures and breathing.

Participants will learn: Alignment–based Yoga, Principles of Alignment, working with alignment themes in asana practice, how to use the major Yoga Props to assist and refine alignment.

LIGHT GRIDS GROUP CLEARINGS with DAMIEN WYNNE: Friday, October 26th

YINSPIRATIONAL JOURNEY with MICHELE SAPANARO: Sunday, October 14th

Yin Yoga is a meditation for the body. Through the practice of long held postures targeting the connective tissue of the low back, hips and hamstrings, Yin Yoga asks the practioner to slow down and create space for stillness. Working from the outer body back to your core, this practice explores the relationship between the form of the physical poses and the formless states of
meditation and absorption.

TEACHER'S INTENSIVE ON INTEGRATING GENTLE BREATH-BASED YIN, RESTORATIVE, RECUPERATIVE INVERSIONS with RAJI THRON: Saturday, September 29th

Deepen your inner journey. Experience the delicious effects of the softer side of Yogic practices. Refine your ability to work with and guide gentle propped pose variations and inner self-reflective practices.

Participants will learn: gentle Krishnamacharya breath-based movements and modifications, propped “yin” poses, Iyengar-style restoratives, gentle breathing practices, relaxation, yoga nidra and healing meditations. Emphasis on principles of anatomy, alignment, sequencing, breath awareness, inner focus and intention.

MUSCLES AND MYOFASCIA IN YOGA ANATOMY with RUSSELL DITCHFIELD-AGBOH, P.T.: Part III - Sunday, November 18th in Ramsey

Part III: Sunday, November 18th, 3:30-6:00 pm

These workshops explore the intricate relationship of joints, muscles, and the lines of myofascia that link throughout the body and give the keys to understanding postural alignment and engagement. Russell will share how the myofascial structure reflects common postural imbalances and compensations and how this insight can indicate what postural work is necessary for realignment and integration.

GLOBAL MALA NJ 2012 PEACE EVENT: Sunday, September 23rd

Dear Yoga Synthesis Community,

Come join me for another fun and exhilarating experience at Global Mala this year! I'll be there guiding sun salutes just like the last few years. Starts at 9am! We do a lot of them, but it feels great if you pace yourself. Everyone does them as few or as easy as they want. Getting through 108 sun salutes for the first time is very fulfilling. It will definitely be an exciting experience being in a whole new venue as well.
